Have you ever find yourself struggling, having no idea how social media work and overall, how to succeed and get the best out of it??
David Alston once said, "social media is not a media. The key is to listen, engage, and build relationship"
It might sound weird, but at the end of the day, Social media is like meeting a person you don't know and he suddenly starts telling you a story. That is why, you should LISTEN to what they are saying. It is then time to ENGAGE with that person and try to understand and share your version of the story, maybe while exchanging everyone's point of view. Last but not least, BUILD RELATIONSHIP.
Building a relationship might seem complicated even in real life. You are probably wondering what is the key to all of that... and the answer is: CONSISTENCY.
I mean.. if you decide that you want to start learning how to play guitar and you leave your instrument in the closet after only a couple of weeks.... don't expect to play at Ed Sheeran´s concert next year. Actually you would´t even be able to play Do Re Mi at the beach with your friends.
So... how do you keep a relationship with your social media platforms and the related followers?
EASY!!!
Keep looking around, keep listening to what is working at the moment and keep your eyes open on what people want to see/ hear.
Be as engaged as you can, share your stories and have the urge to communicate with who is following you.
Moral of the story... Never give up, do not leave your precious social media instruments in your closet and show your skills to the world!!
